GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Spinx Co. Inc. has announced the promotion of Cheryl Szczesniak, chief information officer, and Steven Visser, chief financial officer, to the convenience store retailer's executive leadership team.
Szczesniak joined Spinx in 2005 as its operations controller and in 2007, and the company made her CIO earlier this year to lead its technology team. The company promoted her to the executive leadership team at that time. Szczesniak is currently responsible for the company's technology infrastructure and IT project management.
She was assistant manager of retail accounting for Wawa, Pa.-based c-store chain Wawa Inc. from 2002 to 2005.
Visser began his career with Spinx in 2006 as assistant controller, and in 2007, the company promoted him to operations controller. In 2009, it promoted him to the position of corporate accounting controller. The company named him CFO with the promotion of Stan Storti to president in Jan 2014. In his new position, Visser will lead the company's financial operations, while overseeing the accounting and treasury departments.
Spinx also promoted Visser to the executive leadership team.
Comprised of senior level executives, the executive leadership team focuses on strategy planning, policy development and workplace oversight for Spinx. Storti and CEO Steve Spinks lead the executive leadership committee.
Based in Greenville, S.C., Spinx operates 74 c-stores in South Carolina and North Carolina.
