S&G Stores Acquires 12 Barney’s Convenience Stores

Ohio retailer eager to grow throughout the Midwest
S&G Stores LLC

SYLVANIA, Ohio — Convenience-store retailer S&G Stores LLC has acquired 12 Barney’s Convenience Stores.

Barney’s, Perrysburg, Ohio, started in 1966 as Big Barney Auto Wash and has since evolved into Barneys Convenience Stores. The chain employs approximately 100 employees. Eleven of the 12 stores are branded BP and one is branded as an Amoco.

S&G Founder and CEO Dan Ridi said he will retain Barney’s employees and operate the 12 acquired stores under the BP fuel brand. He added that S&G is positioned to continue growing throughout the Midwest.

Established in 1999 as Stop and Go Stores, Sylvania, Ohio-based S&G has grown to 74 units in and around the Toledo and Dayton, Ohio, markets.
