Kellogg’s Ups Cereal Game With 6 New Varieties
By Rachel Gignac on Apr. 17, 2023The Kellogg Co., Battle Creek, Michigan, has not been apprehensive about introducing new cereal products this spring. The brand launched five cereals in April, four in partnership with other brands and one a spinoff of an existing cereal.
In June, Kellogg revealed its plan to separate into three independent public companies—Kellanova, global snacking business; WK Kellogg Co., North American cereal business; and temporarily-named Plant Co., a portfolio of plant-based offerings.
The company said that short term, WK Kellogg Co. will focus on the restoration of inventory, profit margins and share position following 2021 supply disruptions. Long term, it will focus resources and strengthen the business through enhancing its portfolio, operating capabilities and productivity.
The new names will go into effect in connection with the spinoff of the North American cereal business, which Kellogg Co. intends to complete by the end of 2023.
