WESTLAKE, Ohio — TravelCenters of America LLC, operator of the TA, Petro Stopping Centers and TA Express brands, has signed a franchise agreement with Amin Alibhai, a real estate investor and owner of Nizar Alibhai investments Inc., Atlanta, to open a TA-branded travel center in Huntington, Ore.

The 19-acre property in Malheur County near Farewell Bend was previously home to the Huntington Travel Plaza. The full-service facility will feature all of the usual products, services and amenities that the TravelCenters of America network offers, including truck diesel, gasoline, truck parking, a TA Truck Service Center, travel store and dining options for professional drivers and highway motorists.

  • TravelCenters of America is No. 28 in the Top 40 update to CSP's 2018 Top 202 ranking of convenience-store and travel-center chains by number of retail outlets.

“We welcome Amin to the TA, Petro and TA Express travel-center network. We are thrilled to be able to add another large-footprint, full-service TA to our system,” said Barry Richards, president and chief operating officer of TravelCenters.

“We’re very eager to join the TravelCenters and TA-Petro network,” said Alibhai. “Being a part of the TravelCenters fueling, truck service and UltraOne loyalty system will help us better serve our customers through fleet fueling and service agreements, while offering the best amenities on the highway. This brand stands for quality and has the trust of professional drivers.”

With years of experience in owning and managing convenience stores and other retail establishments, Alibhai adds the TA Travel Center to his portfolio of business ventures including gas stations.

TravelCenters of America, with headquarters in Westlake, Ohio, has 258 locations in 43 states and Canada.
