Peet’s debuted its Golden Latte LTO in January—its first coffee item featuring turmeric as the main ingredient. Turmeric appeals to health-conscious consumers, reportedly helping to digest fats, reduce bloating and decrease congestion. The beverage also aligns with today’s artisanal beverage trend, with 43% of younger consumers (ages 18-34) saying they’re ordering more drinks with unique flavors than they were two years ago, according to Technomic’s 2017 Flavor Consumer Trend Report. The beverage features a shot of the chain’s house espresso mixed with golden turmeric, ginger and honey. The LTO ran through April 30.
