A-B, Snapple Super Bowl Sneak Peeks

Brewer, beverage company showcase ads

ST. LOUIS -- Anheuser-Busch is offering a preview of its Super Bowl ads. The beer company plans to air five minutes of new ads during the Sunday broadcast of Super Bowl XLI between the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Coltsmore than any other advertiser.

St. Louis-based A-B has been producing Super Bowl spots since 1975, and it is the Super Bowl's exclusive beer advertiser through 2012.

Ads in consideration to air during the game broadcast include:

Apocalypse (Budweiser): NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. fends off a posse [image-nocss] of post-Apocalyptic mutants. Clydesdales/Spot (Budweiser): A discouraged pup stumbles into his ticket to fame atop the world famous Budweiser Clydesdales hitch. King Crab (Budweiser): An army of sand crabs goes to great lengths to honor their favorite beach beverage. International Space Station (Budweiser): Astronauts at the International Space Station celebrate their final days in space with an ice-cold Budweiser. Rock, Paper, Scissors (Bud Light): Two friends settle their confrontation over the last Bud Light by playing a friendly game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. But He Has Bud Light (Bud Light): A young couple debates picking up an axe-wielding hitchhiker. Classroom (Bud Light): Comedian Carlos Mencia educates pupils how to properly order a Bud Light. Just A Game (Budweiser Select): Jay-Z takes on his toughest opponent yet in a futuristic game of football.

And Rye Brook, N.Y.-based Snapple is also offering a preview of its Super Bowl commercial. It will showcase the metabolism-boosting powers of its Green Tea in a 30-second spot airing during the game. The ad is Snapple's first to air during the Super Bowl and celebrates its new super premium line of Red, White, Green and Black teas.

The commercial, created by Cliff Freeman & Partners, follows a tea-loving pilgrim on his quest for metabolic enlightenment, and highlights EGCG, the natural antioxidant in Snapple Green Tea which has been proven to help boost metabolism. It will air during the fourth quarter of the game.

"We're using this opportunity as a first-time Super Bowl advertiser to deliver the 'good for you' message in a humorous way," said Bryan Mazur, vice president of marketing for Snapple. "Consumers want teas with authentic taste, pure ingredients and real, functional benefits. Even our approach to advertising is realwe didn't shoot our commercials on a back lot in Hollywood. This Green Tea spot was shot on location in China, and we traveled to Thailand and Africa for our White and Red Tea spots."
