Miller Brewing Earns Retailer Recognition

Company named preferred' and most-improved' supplier

LAS VEGAS -- Miller Brewing Co. was awarded the Preferred Supplier award from CM Profit Group LLC this past week during the NACS Show in Las Vegas for its expertise in category management. Miller was also named most improved domestic supplier.

The Preferred Supplier award is based on in-depth research and surveys of off-premise retailers, and was given to Miller for having the highest ratings for overall performance. This is the fourth year that CM Profit Group has conducted research of off-premise chain buying decision-makers and the first year [image-nocss] that Anheuser Busch was not rated No. 1.

We are honored to accept the award here at the NACS Show among the very people who made this possible, said Jeff Schouten, Miller Brewing group director, category management and eCommerce. We think the beer category should work for the retailer, rather than the retailer working for the category leader. We're gratified that retailers have recognized our commitment.

Miller Brewing Co. has provided category management expertise to retailers for more than 10 years. Miller's category managementprogram provides business and consumer insights, space management capability and supply-chain knowledge for all classes of trade in the beer industry.

Miller's No. 1 ranking among retailers in our research is noteworthy because it is the first time in the four years we have conducted this research that the position has changed, said Carol Breedlove, partner of CM Profit Group. We are pleased to recognize this achievement and congratulate Miller Brewing Company.

CM Profit Group is a leader in beverage company sales and marketing staff development. The company helps analyze the sales strengths of beverage companies and develop custom plans for gaining maximum influence on retailer category decisions.

Milwaukee-based Miller Brewing Co. is the oldest major brewer in American. Miller is a wholly owned subsidiary of SABMiller plc, one of the world's largest brewers.
