Mtn Dew Releases New Flavor

Beverage brand's Major Melon is twist on watermelon

PURCHASE, N.Y. —Mtn Dew released its first new permanent flavor in more than a decade. Mtn Dew Major Melon tastes like watermelon but with a Dew twist, according to the brand.

The pink drink also comes in Zero Sugar and is available in 20-ounce bottles, 2-liter bottles, 12 packs of 12-ounce cans and a variety of other single and multipack sizes.  

"We found watermelon to be the No. 1 choice of flavors tested amongst our fans, and Mtn Dew Major Melon is our answer for those who are looking for a refreshing charge to keep them invigorated all day long," said Nicole Portwood, vice president of marketing at Mtn Dew. 

Mountain Dew is a product of Purchase, N.Y.-based PepsiCo North America Beverages. The permanent Dew product line includes Mtn Dew Kickstart, Mountain Dew Code Red, Mountain Dew Voltage and Mtn Dew Zero Sugar.
