New Goose Island Brew Honors Chicago's First Mayor

The Ogden, a Belgian-style tripel beer, debuts May 5

CHICAGO -- The second beer in Goose Island Beer Co.'s Imperial Series will hit store shelves beginning May 5. The Ogden, a Belgian-style tripel beer, is an homage to Chicago’s first mayor, William B. Ogden, who opened Chicago’s first brewery. He also was a trustee to the Chicago Land Co., which cut a channel that resulted in the creation of Goose Island, the namesake of Goose Island Beer Co.

Suggested Glassware: Nonic Pint

ABV/IBU: 9% / 35

Availability: The Ogden is a national, limited release available in 12-oz. bottles (4-packs) and on tap beginning May 5.
