BP Breakfast Blitz Continues

ampm offers free tasting, coupons today

LA PALMA, Calif. -- Following the launch of its new morning menu earlier this month, ampm is inviting customers to sample new breakfast burritos, empanadas and croissant sandwiches Wednesday, September 23, from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at participating U.S. ampm stores while supplies last. Participating stores will offer half-size versions of items from the new menu.

Sampling will be accompanied by coupons for any hot breakfast item for $1.

"Once customers get a taste of our new hot breakfast items, we're confident they'll come back for more," said Bill Fry, president [image-nocss] of BP U.S. Convenience Retail.

The menu offers commuters the following morning breakfast options:
Two breakfast burritos: The Works, filled with smoked ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns and three cheeses; and the Chorizo con Papas, filled with chorizo, eggs, potatoes and a three-cheese blend Two empanadas (stuffed pastries): one with sausage, egg and cheese, and the other with chorizo, egg and cheese Depending on the region, ampm will offer either two or three croissant sandwiches: one with sausage, egg and cheese, another with ham, egg and cheese, andin certain areasbacon, egg and pepper-jack cheese. Radio ads supporting the sampling day is running in selected areas from September 21 to September 23. BP is also promoting the new breakfast menu with e-mail blasts, text message alerts and store signage.

The ampm brand was founded in 1978 in Southern California by Atlantic Richfield (ARCO), which was acquired by BP in 2000. ARCO-branded ampm stores are currently found in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Arizona; BP-branded ampm stores are located in Chicago, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Orlando, Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Atlanta. The ampm brand is based in La Palma, Calif.
