WEST DES MOINES, Iowa-- Kum & Go is opening a new 5,000-square-foot convenience store on Sept. 13, in Tulsa, Okla. This store replaces an older, smaller store nearby.
The spacious new store is designed to provide a convenient shopping experience for customers. While the old store offered limited roller grill items such as hot dogs and tornados, the new store has a "Go Fresh Market" offering a broad selection of foods. These include made-to-order pizzas, baked goods, and breakfast and deli sandwiches--all made fresh daily in Kum & Go's onsite kitchen.
The retailer is inviting customers to stop by the new store to sample many of these food options and grab $1 pizza slices during the first week the store is open. Outside, more fueling stations and a large variety of fuel offerings, including E-85 fuel, will give consumers more choices and value at the pump.
"We work hard to deliver fast and friendly service to our customers," said president and CEO Kyle J. Krause. "Our newest and larger store design that includes an onsite kitchen will provide our customers in Tulsa with a variety of quick and fresh food options."
Kum & Go stores are saving energy and water through the company's commitment to sustainable practices. Kum & Go is replacing many of its smaller, older stores with new, larger stores designed and constructed in accordance with rigorous Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certification guidelines in mind. Sustainable features of this new Kum & Go store include Solatube skylights, LED lighting (both inside and outside the store), low-flow, water-efficient fixtures and highly energy-efficient equipment. Each store is built using recyclable materials and locally sourced materials.
"Building more sustainable stores is just one of the many ways we live our commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen in the communities where we operate," said Krause. Kum & Go has 35 stores in the Tulsa metropolitan area and 49 stores throughout Oklahoma.
