N.J. Exxon, BP, Gulf Stations Selling Pizza Cono

Retailers adding cone-shaped pizza, empanadas

RED BANK, N.J. -- Cono Italiano Inc., the exclusive licenseholder for the North American distribution and manufacturing rights for "pizza cono," a drip-free, cone-shaped pizza made from proprietary dough made of proprietary dough and filled with freshly selected ingredients, as well as empanadas, said its "pizza cono" and empanadas are being sold in convenience stores located at Exxon, BP and Gulf stations in the New York metropolitan area.

The locations include a Gulf station at the Holland Tunnel in Jersey City, N.J., a BP station in Jersey City and an Exxon in Ramsey, N.J.

The program includes a warmer provided to each store to display and sell pizza cones and empanadas. Product is delivered weekly to each location.

"Cono Italiano Inc. has always stated they would align themselves with the most prestigious and recognizable companies to market its products," said Mitchell Brown, president and CEO of Cono Italiano. "These are exciting times for Cono Italiano Inc, this program affords us the opportunity to introduce our products to a wide array of consumers and help bolster the branding of our company."

Red Bank, N.J.-based Cono Italiano intends that the Pizza Cone will be distributed through the fast-food market. The Pizza Cone will be distributed to quick-service restaurants (QSR), takeaways and leisure locations, the company said. These establishments include typical fast-food chains, supermarkets, convenience stores, entertainment facilities and sports arenas.
