2018 SOI: Category Sales Overview

Cigarettes still lead; OTP, milk and general merchandise see the most growth

CHICAGO -- Tobacco supplied the greatest share of in-store sales in 2017, but it its contribution continues to shrink in size. Foodservice ranked second in sales but first in profits, providing more than one-third of in-store gross-profit dollars.

Elsewhere in the store, OTP, salty snacks, milk and general merchandise enjoyed strong gains in c-store sales and gross-profit dollars in 2017.
