ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. — Liz Howard, who started at Parker’s Convenience Stores as a cashier in 2004, is the new vice president of operations, the company has announced.
She will replace Chuck King, who is retiring after more than 20 years with the company.
“Liz has been a stellar employee and store manager for Parker’s, and she will serve us well in her new role,” said Patrick Parker, president of Parker’s Convenience Stores. “She is always willing to do what is necessary to make Parker’s the best convenience store chain in coastal Georgia, and we are proud to name her as our new VP of operations.”
Howard is a “homegrown hire.” Soon after starting as a cashier at a Hinesville, Ga., location, she was promoted to a managerial role and went on to win Manager of the Year honors four times.
In her new role, Howard will oversee operations of all 11 Parker’s Convenience Stores sites, in the Georgia counties of Appling, Glynn, Liberty, McIntosh and Wayne.
Parker said King set a high bar in managing the day-to-day operations at all of the company's locations in coastal and southeast Georgia.
“We will miss Chuck,” Parker said. “He has done an excellent job for this company, and he is leaving some big shoes to fill. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Based on St. Simons Island, Ga., Parker’s Convenience Stores operates 11 retail outlets across southeastern Georgia
