Irving Oil Opens 4th Big Stop in Quebec

Travel plaza is largest east of Montreal

QUEBEC CITY -- The St-Liboire Big Stop, which Irving Oil said is the largest travel plaza east of Montreal, will opened July 12 in St-Liboire, Quebec, centrally located between Montreal and Quebec City.

Originally converted to the Irving Oil banner in 1988, the travel plaza has been serving motorists and professional drivers for more than 19 years. The facility was completely torn down to make way for the new Big Stop, which now includes more than 20,000 square feet of fueling, restaurant and convenience store offerings.

Motorists will find six fueling positions and as always, the site will offer Irving's trademark really, really clean washrooms.

Professional drivers will have access to six automated commercial fueling lanes featuring Irving Ultra Clean Diesel, 110 truck parking spaces and a certified truck scale. Other services include a driver lounge area, showers, complimentary WIFI, a laundromat and more.

For the hungry traveler, the Big Stop restaurant will serve food 24 hours a day. with 180 seats available. The Couche-Tard c-store will offer a great selection of fresh pastries, grab'n'go sandwiches, fresh hot coffee and cold beverages. In 2001, Irving Oil and Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. formed a joint venture to convert 56 Irving Oil Mainway c-stores to the Couche-Tard banner. Laval, Quebec-based Couche-Tard operates the locations and shares operating revenues with Irving Oil. Also, 60 Couch-Tard locations were converted to the Irving Oil banner.

The St-Liboire Big Stop will also feature a full-service Tim Hortons, opening in late summer.

The facility is one of four Irving travel plazas in Quebec. It will create more than 100 jobs for local residents, including administrative positions, serving staff, cooks, book keepers, station attendants and more.
