CINCINNATI -- The Kroger Co. recently named Jeff Parker as president of its Kwik Shop convenience store division, succeeding Michael Hoffman, who was recently named as director of c-store bridging, joining Kroger's corporate office.
Parker previously served as senior vice president of operations for Kwik Shop and was the corporate controller for Kroger's convenience stores, Turkey Hill Dairy and supermarket petroleum operations before joining Kwik Shop.
He will oversee 131 Kwik Shop stores in Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa. The chain is based in Hutchinson, Kansas.
"Jeff brings [image-nocss] extensive experience to his new position and we look forward to his significant contributions as we focus on making it even easier for customers to enjoy the benefits of shopping our convenience stores," said Van Tarver, vice president of Kroger's c-store division.
Hoffman will be responsible for bridging Kroger's supermarket and c- store formats and will report to Tarver.
Also, Kroger has named Ken Nuss as vice president of marketing for its c-stores, effective February 1. In his new role, Nuss will continue to report to Tarver. Previously, Nuss has been corporate director of marketing for Kroger's c-store division since 2002.
Cincinnati-based Kroger has 2,487 supermarkets and multi-department stores in 31 states under two-dozen banners including Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less, Fry's, King Soopers, Smith's, Dillons, QFC and City Market. It also has 782 c-stores, 678 supermarket fuel centers and other retail offerings.
The company's c-stores are in 16 states: Loaf ‘N Jug in Colorado, New Mexico, Nebraska, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming; Turkey Hill Minit Markets in Pennsylvania; Tom Thumb Food Stores in Florida and Alabama; Kwik Shop in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska; and Quik Stop Markets in California and Nevada.
