The Pantry's SVP of Operations Resigns

Williams promoted to take over role from the departing Zaborski

SANFORD, N.C. -- The Pantry Inc. said that David M. Zaborski, senior vice president of operations, has resigned from the company effective March 31, 2008, to pursue other interests. Meanwhile, Brad Williams will be promoted to vice president of field operations.

Zaborski has served as senior vice president of operations since December 2005 and as vice president of marketing from November 2001 to December 2005. From June 2000 to November 2001, he served as vice president of operations, and from March 1999 to June 2000, he served as Vice President of Strategic Planning. Zaborski served as [image-nocss] director of marketing for Handy Way Food Stores from August 1990 to February 1999.

Williams was most recently a division vice president at The Pantry with operating responsibility for approximately 550 convenience stores, and since joining the company in 1998, he has held numerous positions in operations management.

"I want to thank David for his contributions to The Pantry and wish him well in his future endeavors," said The Pantry's CEO, Pete Sodini.

Sodini added, "Brad is an outstanding performer, and I am confident that he will provide solid leadership to help drive continued growth in our business."

Headquartered in Sanford, N.C., The Pantry is a leading independently operated c-store chain in the southeastern United States and one of the largest independently operated c-store chains in the country, with revenues for fiscal 2007 of approximately $6.9 billion. As of Feb. 22, 2008, the company operated 1,644 stores in 11n states under several banners, including Kangaroo Express, its primary operating banner.
