Rutter's Offers Gas Discount

New-store celebration includes pricing deal for undetermined period

YORK, Pa. -- To celebrate the opening Thursday of its new convenience store in Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pa., Rutter Farm Stores is offering gasoline at discounted prices for an undetermined period of time, it said.

Our gas prices will always be competitive, but we wanted to give customers an extra incentive to stop by and see what Rutter's is all about, said Scott Hartman, the company's president. We look forward to a long relationship with the Waynesboro community.

The 4,587-sq.-ft. store had been under construction since [image-nocss] December. Rutter's has transformed what had been an abandoned car dealership into a modern convenience store, complete with 12 fueling locations covered by an illuminated canopy.

The store, which is open 24 hours daily, has approximately 20 employees.

It offers Rutter's proprietary Famous Express Deli and Famous Express Grill, a coffee bar with latte and cappuccino, fountain soft drinks, coolers and freezers, men's and women's restrooms and indoor seating for 16. It is the first Rutter's to feature two sets of automatic doors to make it easier for customers, many of whom are expected to be neighborhood residents, to come and go.

Family-owned and third generation-managed, York, Pa.-based Rutter's operates 50 c-stores in York, Adams, Franklin and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania.
