Swiss Farms Adds Another Store

Plans to double number of locations by 2008

UPPER DARBY, Pa. -- Swiss Farms Stores opened its 11th store Wednesday in Upper Darby, Pa. The drive-thru convenience-store chain, based in Broomall, Pa., said earlier this year it would add 10 new locations by 2008, including sites in Aston and Concord, according to a report in The Delaware County Times.

The new location is 12,000 square feet and features two drive-thru lanes.

The chain also branched out into Chester County, Pa., with a Lionville store in April, and plans to spread to Montgomery County, Delaware and Southern [image-nocss] New Jersey as well, the report said.

Consumers are starting to catch on, Rob Coldwell, Swiss Farms' director of operations, told the newspaper. They're starting to understand the convenience and the high-quality products, so it's moving in the right direction. Drive-thru knows no demographic [and] convenience is universal.

The chain has also added coffee, breakfast foods, microwavable Italian dinners and salads to its traditional line of fresh dairy products and snack foods, the report said.
