TravelCenters of America Reopens Renovated Marianna, Fla., Site

QuikTrip plans third Owasso, Okla., location

MARIANNA, Fla. -- TravelCenters of America LLC (TA) said that it has reopened its Marianna, Fla., location after a major renovation project. Marianna is situated on I-10 (Exit 142). Highlights of the Marianna renovation include remodeling of the Country Pride restaurant and the addition of a quick-serve food court. The restaurant seats 120 patrons.

The new food court added quick-serve restaurant (QSR) concepts Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits, serving New Orleans Cajun style chicken, and a Taco Bell/Pizza Hit Express combination. The new food court adds another 78 seats for on-premise customer [image-nocss] dining. TA operates 129 full-service restaurants across the United States and Canada including 86 Country Pride locations. And it operates nearly 230 QSRs across the United States and Canada. This restaurant renovation and food court addition continues to position TA as offering the most comprehensive and diverse food offer on the interstate for motorists, tour buses and RVers, it said.

In addition to the remodeled Country Pride restaurant and added QSR concepts, the company also remodeled exterior features. It added a new gasoline island serving TA gasoline 24 hours per day all year long.

Westlake, Ohio-based TA is a leading national chain of travel centers in 41 states and Canada under the TravelCenters of America and Petro brands.

Separately, Tulsa, Okla.-based QuikTrip Corp. said it will open its third convenience store in Owasso, Okla., in a vacant Pomac's c-store location, according to The Owasso Reporter.

"We'll get construction work going as soon as possible," company spokesperson Mike Thornbrugh told the newspaper. "We don't have a set date yet, but we want to get started as soon as we can. We hope to have it completed by late spring or early summer of 2009. We would like to have it done around April or May, but June will probably be more of a target date."

Thornbrugh said the store will be at least 4,600 square feet and will have a vertical gas pump configuration that will have eight pumps and can handle 18 vehicles at one time.
