VERC's Vercollone Named NECSA President

Will lead multi-state, regional convenience store association

DUXBURY, Mass. -- Leo Vercollone, president of VERC Enterprises, a leading convenience store and Mobil/Gulf gasoline operator with locations throughout eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire, has been named president of the New England Convenience Store Association (NECSA).

Vercollone will lead NECSA, which represents and protects the interests of retailers and suppliers in the convenience store and petroleum industry in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

A resident of Duxbury, Mass., he has served on numerous industry, civic and community organizations, including as a member of the board of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, on the Dealer Advisory Council for both Mobil and Gulf and as a member of the board of the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS).

A longtime member of NECSA, Vercollone served as its vice president prior to being named president.

Duxbury, Mass.-based VERC Enterprises is a leading regional independent chain of convenience stores and gas stations. The company began 37 years ago with a single car wash in Marshfield, Mass., in a business founded by Eugene Vercollone. Today, two of Vercollone's sons operate the company, with Leo as president and Paul as vice president. The firm has more than 230 employees and is a leader in hiring those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In 2011, VERC Enterprises was recognized by the Boston Business Journal as a Best Place to Work in Massachusetts and as a Leader in Diversity and in 2011, 2012 and 2013 by the Boston Globe as a Best Place to Work in Massachusetts.
