ANKENY, Iowa — Casey’s General Stores has become the latest convenience-store retailer to launch curbside pickup operations in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Casey’s curbside pickup is available at all locations across its 16-state region. Customers can order more than 100 items through the service—accessible online or via Casey’s mobile app—including Casey’s flagship pizza, snacks and other c-store essentials. There is no additional charge for the service.

  • Casey’s, based in Ankeny, Iowa, has more than 2,200 convenience stores in 16 states. It is No. 4 on CSP’s2020 Top 202 ranking of convenience-store chains by number of retail outlets.

“We see more and more guests seeking curbside pickup options to save time and feel safe,” said Art Sebastian, vice president of digital experience for Casey’s. “Casey’s has developed our curbside offering as a fully-integrated option inside our app, enabling us to deliver a best-in-class experience for our guests.”

Casey’s debuted curbside pickup at several locations in Kansas City, Mo., and in Des Moines, Iowa, in July. It expanded the service to 80 additional locations in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in August. Casey’s said it found that consumers enjoyed the extra benefit of fueling up at the pump during their curbside pickup trip.

“We are excited to expand our shopping options, and ultimately want to provide our guests safe, convenient choices—whether they use curbside pickup, stop in the store to see a familiar face, or have their order delivered,” said Sebastian.

Cumberland Farms, Westborough, Mass.; QuickChek, Whitehouse Station, N.Y.; and Wawa, Wawa, Pa., among others, have also recently launched curbside pickup in response to the pandemic.
