Chillicothe was the first capital of the state of Ohio.
During the past year, as part of Columbus, Ohio-based Certified Oil's 70th anniversary, [image-nocss] the company has been rolling out a new corporate image, remodeling its existing stores and creating its design for future stores. The Chillicothe store opening will mark the first with the new design built from the ground up, the report added.
Certified Oil is redesigning its outlets to put a greater emphasis on food sales, the company said. One of the new products is an exclusively branded coffee named after the founder, Carlyle Baker, called Carlyle's Cup.
The redesigned stores have the red, white and blue color scheme, but they have a new logo, with a red check mark inside a white "C." Inside, the walls will be decorated with what the company calls "lifestyle photography," images intended to make the stores comfortable places to shop.

"The design addresses all internal and external aspects of the store, including Certified signage, store logo, colors, counters, fountain drinks, foodservice and more," Keith Cheney, regional vice president for Certified oil, told the newspaper. "The new, modern convenience store was built to attract a wider audience including men, women, older citizens, younger adults and families."
Several activities were scheduled Tuesday at the new store, including morning and afternoon live broadcasts by WKKJ with special prices, giveaways and prizes; a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Joe Sulzer, State Senator John Carey and State Representative Ray Pryor; the Ohio Lottery "Spin & Win" program; and a grand prize drawing for a 40-inch Toshiba flat-screen LCE high-definition TV.
The store is open 24 hours, and the number of employees will increase from 5 to 12, said the report.
Certified operates or supplies more than 140 locations in Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky. It maintains its own proprietary "Certified" fuel brand and distributes fuels for Sunoco, Marathon, Valero and Clark.
