CHICAGO -- CSP will serve as a media sponsor of the Partnership for a Healthier America's annual summit to be held April 1-2. The event brings together leaders from the public health, academic, nonprofit and corporate worlds to discuss how they can contribute to a healthier nation.
For the first time, the organization is hosting the summit in Chicago, shifting its focus to the area’s robust food and beverage industry. As a media sponsor, CSP will aid in the convenience-store industry's ongoing move toward being a healthier food provider to consumers across the country.
The meeting’s theme, Accelerating a Healthier Future, seeks to offer corporate partners achievable solutions for creating a healthier marketplace. The summit will include workshops, sessions and lectures on how to speed up health-forward movements.
Conference speakers will include foodservice industry experts, such as Sara Burnett, Panera Bread’s vice president of wellness and food policy, and Marissa Thiry, Taco Bell’s nutrition specialist for North America.
PHA’s mission is to leverage the power of the private sector to bring lasting systemic changes that improve the food supply, increase healthy choices, increase physical activity and contribute to a culture of health. In 2010, PHA was created in conjunction with—but independent from—Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! effort.
