CSP to Launch Food Show

Berzan to lead effort, other initiatives

OAK BROOK, Ill. -- Convenient foods-to-go will be the focus of a new multi-channel trade show to be launched by CSP Information Group in August 2008. The conference and trade show will provide a business, education and networking forum for retailers and suppliers involved with on-the-go food retailing.

The demand for quick, quality food has never been greater, while consumer expectations have never been higher. This new event will offer focused educational sessions and a trade show featuring the latest foodservice products, services and equipment. It [image-nocss] will attract all retail formats that offer convenient foods including QSR, convenience stores, colleges/universities, book stores, drug and grocery stores, mass merchandisers, airports and food courts.

Jane Berzan, former senior vice president for the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), will join CSP Information Group in the new position of vice president of strategic initiatives. In this role, she will lead CSP's new foodservice trade show as well as several other new business initiatives for CSP.

Having been a senior executive with NACS for 11 years with primary responsibility for the NACS Show, Berzan brings a wealth of knowledge about retail channels of trade, and strong relationships with retailers and suppliers.

According to Paul Reuter, president and CEO of CSP Information Group, CSP is launching this new show to offer a much-needed one-stop major event for companies to see the latest on-the-go food offerings for consumers. Jane's solid knowledge of the industry, combined with her strong business relationships, are the exact attributes we need to lead CSP's new food show event. I have personally known Jane for 10 years; her professionalism, energy and customer focus will be a strong addition to our team, and I am thrilled that she is joining us.

During her tenure at NACS, in addition to overseeing the NACS Show for more than a decade, Berzan developed a supplier relations program that significantly increased supplier involvement in the organization; served as liaison to the supplier board; and had responsibility for Hunter Club membership. Jane also played a lead role in forming strategic alliances with other industry groups including the Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) and the partnership with CSP to produce the NACS SOI Summit. Prior to joining NACS, Berzan held positions in various Washington-based trade associations, including the nation's largest trade association, the National Association of Realtors.

Joining the CSP team not only provides a platform for me to achieve my personal and professional objectives, said Berzan, but also allows me to be involved with an industry that I am passionate about. I am excited to be associated with a very strong and highly respected brand, an organization that has an intense focus on its customers and to work with a group of very talented people on the CSP team.

More details on the food show, including specific dates and location, will be available soon.
