Don Miguel Mexican Foods Recalling Carne Asada Burritos Produced Sept. 27

Don Miguel Mexican Foods recall of Carne Asada Burritos due to possibly containing Listeria monocytogenes

Don Miguel Mexican Foods is voluntarily recalling 2,027 cases of one production date of frozen Don Miguel Carne Asada Burritos due to the possibility the product might contain Listeria monocytogenes.

A small number of affected product recently tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. No other Don Miguel products are part of this recall, the Orange, California-based company said.

The product was shipped only to various convenience stores in Arizona, California, Georgia, Michigan, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington.

The production date is on the side of the product packaging along with date code D23270 printed on the package.

There have been no consumer complaints associated with this recall to date, and all retailers that received the affected product have been properly notified, said Don Miguel, which is issuing the recall to ensure consumers are made aware of the issue.

No other sizes, varieties or other packaging configurations of frozen Don Miguel Carne Asada Burritos are included in this recall.

The company is urging consumer with this product to return it to the retailer for an exchange or contact Don Miguel.

This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
