MILFORD, Conn. -- During the month of April, the Subway quick-serve sandwich chain opened 175 new locations and reached the milestones of having more than 4,800 open and operating locations outside of the United Statesand being open in more than 100 Wal-Mart stores across the United States, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
Nontraditionally speaking, the Subway chain now has more than 4,600 locations, it said. Nontraditional means places other than shopping centers, malls and street-front operations where consumers might "traditionally" expect to find a Subway [image-nocss] restaurant, such in convenience stores.
