Reid Brings Crosby's to Ransomville

Retailer opens new c-store in Upstate New York

RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. -- A Crosby's convenience store and gas station held a grand opening in Ransomville, N.Y., late last week, reported The Lockport Union-Sun & Journal. The store is the 31st Crosby's location opened by Lockport, N.Y.-based Reid Stores Inc., a division of the Reid Group, which owns Reid Petroleum.

The company's Crosby's, Crosby Mart and K&K Food Mart stores are located throughout Upstate New York and northwestern Pennsylvania.

Crosby's will serve pizza, made-to-order sandwiches, salads, signature calzones and jumbo chicken wings. Customers [image-nocss] who are in a hurry can pick up premade subs, sandwiches and salads, all made fresh daily in the store's Corner Cafe on the Go section. A Dunkin' Donuts franchise will also operate out of the Ransomville Crosby's.

The store also offers the Corner Cafe Connect, a seating area where patrons can use free Wi-Fi. The cafe can accommodate laptops, smartphones and personal digital assistants, said the report. "We've introduced Wi-Fi technology to many of our new locations as an added convenience for our customers," Doug Galli, general manager and vice president of Reid Stores, told the newspaper. "Now customers can access the Internet for free, grab a quick bite to eat, pick up groceries and fill up their gas tank, all in one place."

But "we want people to come in on and relax," Galli added.

Crosby's shelves will be stocked with a variety of fresh produce, as well as a large selection of dairy products, frozen food and beverages, all at affordable prices without sacrificing quality, Galli said. Also available are tobacco products, an ATM, prepaid wireless phone cards, gift cards, E-ZPass applications, New York State Lottery games and postage stamps.

Reid's decided to open a Crosby's because of Ransomville itself, Galli said. "We like small towns," he told the Union-Sun & Journal. "There was a need in town, so we decided to come here."

In December, Reid Stores opened new Crosby's locations in Dunkirk and Bradford, Pa., added a report by Business First of Buffalo.
