HOUSTON — Sunny Sky Products LLC has launched a cappuccino inspired by Reese’s candy. The drink is made with Hershey’s cocoa and recreates the classic pairing of chocolate and peanut butter.

The Reese’s flavored drinks are free of tree nuts and available in 12-pound cases containing 2-pound pouches.

“Reese’s is an iconic brand that is loved by consumers, and we are excited about the licensing opportunity we have been granted,” said Kim Way, Sunny Sky Products’ vice president of marketing and product innovation. “Our R&D team worked very hard to capture that unique taste combination of chocolate and peanut butter that you can only get from the Reese’s brand, and the result is a truly delicious cappuccino.”

This is not Sunny Sky Product’s first collaboration with the chocolate giant. The dispensed beverage manufacturer is a licensing partner of The Hershey Co. Sunny Sky’s other cappuccino flavors include Hershey’s Hot Chocolate, Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme, York, Heath and Almond Joy.

Last year, Sunny Sky Products expanded its hot-dispensed portfolio with the acquisition of DWS Inc. Now, the company’s portfolio includes more Hershey- and Cinnabon-branded flavors.

Hot-dispensed beverages have become a major growth vehicle for convenience-store foodservice. More than even gas, 68% of consumers purchase foodservice beverages when they stop at c-stores, according to Technomic's Fall 2018 Convenience-Store Consumer MarketBrief.

Houston-based Sunny Sky Products distributes its cold dispensed, hot dispensed and frozen beverages, as well as beverage enhancers, to more than 20 countries. The brand’s product portfolio includes brands such as Hershey’s Freeze, Jolly Rancher Slush, Pure Craft Beverages, El Nino Aguas Frescas and Original Slushie Co.
