BROOMALL, Pa. -- As families fall back into the routine of the new school year, convenience-store brand Swiss Farms is taking the guesswork out of packing kids lunches with a new range of customizable lunchbox meals.
“We know that getting back into the swing of things at the beginning of the school year is a challenge for everyone. Diving head first into pick-up, drop-off, homework and school lunches can feel grueling,” said Scott Simon, CEO of Swiss Farms.
The lunches start at $4.99, with additional sides and extras priced at $2 apiece. Swiss Farms is positioning the lunches as well-balanced and healthy—and not strictly for kids, according to a press release. More grown-up lunchbox options start at $6.99.
“We’re all about serving our customers and making their lives easier without sacrificing quality,” Simon continued. “What’s easier than swinging through a Swiss Farms on your way to work or school, picking up a coffee and breakfast and leaving with a healthy packed lunch?”
Kids’ lunchboxes include a half sandwich, side and drink. Meals on the kids menu are all nut-free and feature the following pick-your-own options:
- Ham & Cheese or Turkey & Cheese half sandwiches
- Full Circle applesauce, EnviroKidz granola bars, Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies, fruit snacks or Herr’s chips for sides
- Honest Kids juices or Swiss Premium lemonade to drink
For adults, or bigger kids, the lunchbox menu offers:
- Classic Chicken Salad, Cranberry Chicken Salad, Egg Salad, Tuna Salad, Italian or Turkey & Swiss hoagies
- A variety of Herr’s chips on the side
- Pint sizes of Swiss Premium drinks
- Pricing varies by selection and ranges from $6.99 to $9.99
Swiss Farms may be on to something with this lunchtime promotion. Recent Technomic research shows that lunchtime patronage in the restaurant space is declining this year, as consumers look to other foodservice venues—including c-stores and supermarkets—for a convenient and low-priced lunch visit.
Broomhall, Pa.-based Swiss Farms operates 13 drive-thru locations throughout Delaware and Chester counties in Pennsylvania. Its groceries and meals can be ordered online, via mobile app or in the drive-thru.
