Crompco Adds UST Cleaning to Service Lineup

Supplier expands beyond inspection and compliance portfolio

MEETING, Pa. -- Crompco has signed on as a distributor of Leighton O’Brien cleaning and polishing services.

Crompco LLC, a provider of underground storage tank (UST) inspection, compliance, testing and construction, will begin offering the cleaning and polishing services for USTs and aboveground systems this October. The company’s trained and safety-certified technicians will provide the service, supported by fuel-data analysis and reporting from Leighton O’Brien analysts.

“Through this partnership, we can expand our presence and enhance our services portfolio by leveraging Leighton O’Brien’s market-leading technologies,” said Bob Dee, president of Crompco, Meeting, Pa. “Fuel cleaning and polishing fits within our existing service business and will increase revenue and help differentiate and enhance our overall service offering.”

The Leighton O’Brien cleaning service is designed to address fuel-quality and water-intrusion issues, malfunctioning dispensers, problems with submersible pumps and automatic tank gauges, blocked filters, bacterial growth and phase separation, said Jeff Davis, president of U.S. operations for Leighton O’Brien, Hawthorn East, Australia.

“Our patented design and three-stage fuel-cleaning process returns the customer’s fuel to pristine quality,” said Davis, “while quantifying the waste and contamination removed from sites to assist our customers with inventory reconciliation adjustments and reduce their overall cost.”

With this latest U.S. distributorship, Leighton O’Brien systems is poised to service more than 2,500 tanks around the world. Its systems are designed in Australia and built in the United States, which has become the company’s largest fuel-cleaning and -polishing market over the last three years.
