Gas Up at Gunpoint

Motorist forced to fill up another vehicle

SALT LAKE CITY -- Because of high gasoline prices, the media likes to run stories about highway robbery at the pump. Well, here's the genuine article.

A woman filling her fuel tank at a Salt Lake City gas station last weekend was forcedat gunpointto fill up another vehicle, according to a report by KUTV.

The victim told police that she was at a gas station on Sunday morning when she was approached by two men who had parked next to her. The driver reportedly pressed a gun up against her back and told her to fill the tank of his [image-nocss] white Jeep Cherokee.

The woman said she put about $15 worth of fuel into the suspect's vehicle before her credit card reached its limit, and the pump would not dispense any more gasoline. The suspects then drove away.

Authorities are now hoping to catch the suspects, whose vehicle carried Wyoming license plates.
