Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores Inc. said Friday will give users of its Love’s Connect App a 10-cents-per-gallon discount on gasoline and automobile diesel fuel at travel stops in 40 states through April 30.

“The 10-cent discount on gasoline and auto diesel is an extension of savings that have been available to professional drivers through the Love’s Express billing card, and we’re excited to continue to give customers more reasons to choose Love’s,” said Francie Koop, director of customer and brand strategy for Love’s, based in Oklahoma City with 608 locations in 42 states. Wisconsin and New Jersey are excluded from the offer.

Love's this year also announced a cash-back program through Upside. The 10-cent discount the latest way the company is meeting customers' needs by lowering prices. It's expected to encourage use of the Love’s Connect App, which requires customers to register with an email address. Consumers can pay using any method and receive the discount by scanning a barcode or inputting numbers from the barcode at the pump or inside the store.

The convenience-store chain also benefits from app use. “The more customers who have the Love’s Connect App, the more people who know about what Love’s has to offer as the leader in highway hospitality. The Love’s Connect App is a valuable tool to collect customer feedback so Love’s can continue to expand and evolve its offerings to best serve customers,” said Caitlin Jensen, external communications manager for Love's.

The Connect App can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store. Once customers have set up their account, using a verified email address, they scan a barcode or input the code’s numbers from the app at the pump to obtain the 10-cents-per-gallon savings, which will appear on their receipt.

The Love’s Connect App includes a store map and route planner, making it easier for customers to prepare for their next trip. A shower check-In feature lets recreational vehicle drivers reserve showers, while “Mobile Deals” and “Love’s Free Drink Club” programs provide savings on meals, snacks and drinks, Jensen said. The company recently rolled out a private-label trail mix.

The company also offers a customized fuel program for commercial drivers who can save up to 14 center per gallon through an Express Billing Program that eliminates credit-card transaction fees. These drivers are only eligible for the 10-cents-a-gallon discount when they’re driving their personal vehicles on their own time. The company also offers fleet management software.

Love’s has over 600 locations in 42 states. The family-owned company, founded in 1964, employs more than 39,000 people. Love’s has over 430 truck service centers, which include Speedco and Love’s Truck Care locations. Love’s and Speedco combined is the largest oil change, preventive maintenance and total truck care nationwide network with over 1,500 maintenance bays and 1,200 emergency roadside vehicles available for customers.
