OPW Names President of Fueling Containment Systems

Unit rolls out new products, services

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- OPW Fueling Components Inc., a provider of commercial and retail fueling equipment, said that it has named Michael McCann president of its OPW Fueling Containment Systems Inc. business unit.

OPW Fueling Containment Systems, Smithfield, N.C., designs and manufactures primary and secondarily contained fuel delivery systems, including flexible coaxial fuel pipe and fittings, liquid tight and testable containment sumps, among other products.

McCann has held various positions within the company over the past 14 [image-nocss] years, including product manager, regional sales manager and, most recently, vice president of dispensing products.

He will report directly to OPW president Craig McNeill.

Cincinnati, Ohio-based OPW currently has five business units: OPW Fueling Containment Systems Inc., OPW Dispensing Products, OPW Environmental Systems, OPW Fuel Management Systems Inc. and OPW Clean Energy Fueling Products.

OPW offers dispensing products, environmental systems, fuel management systems and clean energy fueling products, including dispensing nozzles for vapor recovery, gasoline, diesel, LPG, hydrogen and CNG; swivels, breakaways, valves and fittings; underground and above ground storage tank equipment, spill containers, overfill prevention devices, secondary containment sumps and flexible piping; tank gauging equipment and automated fuel management systems.

Meanwhile, Hodgkins, Ill.-based OPW Fuel Management Systems has recently rolled out the following products and services:

In an effort to improve its technical service help desk response time, it introduced a series of measures in 2006 that resulted in an increased response level that currently sits at 90%, meaning that nine of every 10 calls received at its technical service help desk are answered before going to voice mail. Prior to this turnaround, its technical service help desk saw only one in five telephone calls in 2005 answered before they went to voice mail. It achieved this response rate through the implementation of Standard Work and 5S Kaizen continuous improvement events; integration of a new Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone solution with OPW's current Quintus CustomerQ customer relationship management (CRM) package; staffing changes that included the addition of a new supervisor position and additional technicians; and increased training using web-based seminars.

Advanced security is now available for unattended fueling operations with Petro Vend's (OPW's brand) proximity reader option. When installed in a Petro Vend C/OPT or K800 Fuel Island Terminal, fueling access is either granted or denied a cardholder when a proximity card or key (containing an internal antenna) is waved within a few inches of the reader. And with a two-card system, an employee's proximity card may be combined with a vehicle key or card for added security and accountability.

It has entered into a multi-year agreement with Salt Lake City, Utah-based FuelBay Inc., to provide a variety of combined equipment and software services for its various tank gauging and fleet management products, beginning with its new SiteSentinel iSite automatic tank gauging system. It will integrate the FuelBay Inside program into its new iSite and iTouch automatic tank gauging systems. The SiteSentinel iSite automatic tank gauging provides users with a solution that is easy to use, install and provides complete inventory, delivery, automatic reconciliation and environmental compliance information for as many as 256 USTs or ASTs, 1,000 external sensing devices or a combination of both, through a single console.
