NBA stars from the Atlanta Hawks will shoot hoops for youth at day-camp basketball courts in the Atlanta area this summer, thanks to a QuikTrip Corp. sponsorship.
The Tulsa, Oklahoma-based convenience-store chain has agreed to be the naming-rights sponsor for the Altanta Hawks’ 2023 Community Court Tour, which starts Tuesday, the companies announced.
The new sponsorship is just one way QuikTrip gives back to the communities it serves. So far this year, the company has contributed about $2.7 million to nonprofit organizations in the Atlanta area dedicated to strengthening neighborhoods and families and helping youth lead active, healthy lives, the company said.
- QuikTrip is No. 10 on CSP's 2023 Top 202ranking of convenience-store chains by store count.
The company, which opened its 1,000th store in April, also is one of the Top 25 largest privately held companies in the United States.
The sponsorship this summer will create memorable experiences for participating youth, said Andrew Saltzman, Hawks’ chief revenue officer.
“Our new partnership with QuikTrip, which focuses on positively impacting youth throughout Atlanta and engaging Hawks fans from tipoff to the final whistle, is a natural fit because QuikTrip does a great job of giving back in every community it serves,” he said.
The Hawks sponsorship will continue in the upcoming 2023-24 season with a QT Tipoff promotion, where fans at the Hawks opening home game will win a QT fuel reward if the Hawks win.
“Our organizations share a commitment to providing a first-class experience to our fans, and making a positive impact on our community,” said Aisha Jefferson, QuikTrip’s corporate communications manager. “We look forward to cheering on the Hawks for another exciting season and helping Hawks fans stay fueled up with rewards from our new QT Tipoff.”
