Wilson Farms, Reid Launch 2nd E85 Station

Debuts year to the date after first location

LOCKPORT, N.Y. -- Wilson Farms Inc. and Reid Petroleum Corp. on November 6 launched western New York's second E85 fuel station at the Wilson Farms location in Lockport, N.Y. A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the occasion with comments from CEO and president of Wilson Farms Paul Nanula and president of Reid Petroleum Paul Quebral.

The event was exactly one year to the date of the launch of the first E85 fuel location, which opened at Wilson Farms in North Tonawanda on Nov. 6, 2008.

E85 is the term for motor fuel blends of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. E85 is an alternative [image-nocss] fuel as defined by the U.S. Department of Energy.

"It is an honor for Wilson Farms to once again be a part of this moment in environmental history as E85 has been proven to pose less risk to our environment by reducing carbon dioxide emissions, a harmful greenhouse gas," said Nanula.

"For both environmental and economic reasons, there is an increasing number of flex fuel vehicles on the road throughout the U.S., including in western New York," added Quebral. "Reid Petroleum has been supplying motor fuels throughout western New York since 1922, and it is important that we provide E85 now as an option for this growing sector of customers. We are especially pleased to be doing so again, at the second location with our partners at Wilson Farms."

Lockport-based Reid Petroleum is a multi-branded motor fuel marketer operating in Upstate New York and northwestern Pennsylvania. The company is a subsidiary of The Reid Group that also operates more than 30 convenience stores under the name K&K Food Marts and Crosby Marts.

Wilson Farms Neighborhood Food Stores, established in 1969, currently operates 190 convenience store and gas station locations across New York State. Over the years, Wilson Farms stores have evolved to fit the changing needs of customers, and today offer quality farm-fresh produce, convenient meal solutions, freshly made wraps and sandwiches, gourmet coffee and a wide selection of other beverages, and an expanded line of grocery, frozen and dairy products. The company currently employs more than 2,500 people and is headquartered in Buffalo, N.Y.
