C-Store Items Awarded 2022 Products of the Year

NEW YORK —  Product of the Year USA revealed the 2022 winners from 40 categories. The awards have helped identify deserving brands for 30 years globally and 14 years in the United States.

Winners were selected through a national survey conducted by Kantar, a consumer insights and consulting company. The survey considered 40,000 Americans’ preferences on products’ innovation in function, design, packaging and ingredients.

“Given the continued flux and uncertainty over the past two years, we’re prouder than ever to provide consumers with the vote of 40,000 fellow shoppers as a guide they can trust when making important purchase decisions for themselves and their families,” said Mike Nolan, global CEO of Product of the Year management.

The chosen products get a red seal that can help in-store and online shoppers recognize it as a 2022 Product of the Year.

“One of the great strengths of Product of the Year is that we champion manufacturers for putting forward products that reflect the latest trends and offer consumers the solutions they're looking for,” said Nolan.

OxiClean Daily Clean Multi-Purpose Disinfectant by Church & Dwight cleans and sanitizes with an oxygen-based formula. It kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, including the virus that causes COVID-19. This chlorine-bleach-free formula can be used on surfaces such as tile, laminate, countertops, stovetops, appliance exteriors, sinks, floors, washable walls, cabinets and bathtubs.

Kinder Bueno Mini is a shareable 30-piece bag of individually wrapped chocolate bites. Each bite contains a layer of milk chocolate, a thin wafer, a hazelnut filling and a chocolate drizzle topping.

Charlotte’s Web CBD Gummies are vegan and GMO-free. Each serving contains 10 milligrams of CBD and three milligrams of melatonin.

CBDMD Drink Mix contains 25 milligrams of CBD and can be added to any drink. The 10-calorie mix has no sugar, caffeine or oil. Flavors include Kiwi Strawberry, Lemonade, Peach and Fruit Punch.

D Oh Gee won an award for its CBD Daily Chewies for dogs. The bites have 10 milligrams of CBD each, are made from turkey and cranberries and are free from corn, soy and wheat. They are formulated to supplement care for joint health and supportive care during environmental stress.

Joyba Bubble Fruit Tea comes with a specially made straw for its boba-flavor-filled bubbles that pop when you bite them. It has no artificial flavors or sweeteners. Joyba Tea comes in Strawberry Lemonade, Mango Passion Fruit, Cherry Hibiscus and Raspberry Dragon Fruit.

Lysol Biodegradable Disinfecting Wipes in the scent of Fresh Citrus are made with plant-based fibers that kill 99.9% of viruses and bacteria. The wipes come in 30- and 70-count packs and kill the COVID-19 virus in 30 seconds, according to the company.

Mars won an award for its Cesar Wholesome Bowls, a dog-food bowl made with real chicken and vegetables. The bowl has a peel-off seal for convenience.

The bowls come in six flavors:

Del Monte Foods Inc. won an award for its new Fruit Cups with Infusions. The fruit cups are infused with antioxidant vitamins and made with a full serving of fruit and real fruit juice. They do not contain added sugar, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavors, preservatives or GMO ingredients.

The infused fruit cups come in four flavors:

• Boost Me Mangos and Pineapple in Mango and Dragon Fruit Flavored Juice
• Glow On Peaches in Passionfruit Guava Flavored Juice
• Gut Love Pineapple in Pineapple Ginger Flavored Juice
• Stay Well Grapefruit in Pomegranate Flavored Juice

Takis Blue Heat, a Barcel product, won an award this year. With an “extreme” rating on Taki’s intense meter, the snack is made of rolled tortilla chips with a hot chili-pepper flavor. While they first debuted as a limited-time-offer, they are here to stay as a permanent flavor.

Henkel’s Persil Pro Clean Active Scent Boost won a Product of the Year award for its formula that provides a deep clean and fresh scent that lasts up to 100 days out of storage. It fights stains and odors while providing fiber care and long-lasting freshness

Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health’s Listerine Smart Rinse Kids Anticavity Mouthwash in the Bubble Blast flavor is made for children six and up. The mouth wash comes in a 500-milliliter size and features a redesigned packaging model after the Listerine barbell design. It is ADA accepted and is alcohol-free with sodium fluoride and acidulated phosphate.

Daiya’s Cheddar and Mozza Style Blend is a dairy-free cheese made with chickpea protein.

Captain Morgan Captain’s Cocktails from Diageo are ready to drink and come in three flavors: Tropical Punch, Mai Tai and Long Island Iced Tea.

The Tropical Punch flavor combines Caribbean rum with the flavor of ripe juicy pineapple, orange, coconut and tropical fruits.

The Mai Tai cocktail combines Caribbean rum, lime juice and pineapple flavor.

The Long Island Iced Tea cocktail blends Caribbean rum, vodka and triple sec liqueur, topped off with a lemon flavor.

Pepsi Mango from PepsiCo won an award this year for its cola and mango blend. It is also available in Pepsi Mango Zero Sugar.

Tanqueray Sevilla Orange, a gin from Diageo, combines flavors of orange and spice with a Tanqueray London Dry Gin. It is available at bars, restaurants and spirit retailers.

Nerds, a Ferrara brand, won an award with its Gummy Clusters. The gummy candy comes coated in one of two Nerd flavor options, Rainbow or Very Berry.

Dial’s Foaming Hand Wash Concentrated Refills work by filling an empty Dial bottle to the fill line with water, pouring in the concentrate and mixing it together. Instead of purchasing a new 7.5-ounce Dial foaming hand wash bottle, you can refill a bottle and use 95% less plastic. The cartons are made with 100% paper-based cardboard and the packets are recyclable.

Nature’s Bounty Jelly Bean Vitamins are vegetarian, contain no artificial flavors or sweeteners and are gelatin free.
