"With the growing number of mergers and acquisitions, readers have [image-nocss] been asking us to give them an easy tool that lets them track who's buying and who's exiting our channel. Our new CSP Mergers& Acquisitions Tracker gives you a great perspective of the amount and scale of activity taking place across the country," said CSP group editor Mitch Morrison.
CSP routinely reports on selloffs and purchases within the convenience-retail world and has collected a significant database on industry transactions. With the new interactive map, readers can move their cursors to a specific state and call up regional activity from articles appearing in CSP Daily News. The map currently logs activity going back to January of 2007.
The CSP staff intends to update the map as news develops, creating a substantive record that readers can continually refer to going into the future. "While we don't claim to have accounted for every acquisition, the database of reported activity provides a foundation for analysis," said Angel Abcede, senior editor and co-author of CSP's recent series on M&A within convenience retail. "Looking at the data all in one place helps players understand just how the power is shifting within the c-store landscape."
