LOS ANGELES — Wonderful Pistachios No Shells BBQ and Chili Roasted flavors won a Good Housekeeping 2022 Healthy Snack Award.

The No Shells BBQ flavor features hickory-smoked taste with garlic, paprika and salt flavors. The Chili Roasted offering include hot flavors of red pepper, garlic and vinegar.

Wonderful Pistachios, based in Los Angeles, are a protein-packed favorite, according to Good Housekeeping. Other winners in this category were Whisps Garlic & Herb Cheese Crisps & Nuts and Daily Crunch Nashville Hot Sprouted Almonds, both available in c-stores.

Nearly 2,000 taste testers evaluated more than 5,300 snack samples, and registered dietitians and culinary professionals from the Good Housekeeping Institute Nutrition Lab examined nutrition facts, ingredient lists and flavor profiles.

The awards were given out after testing if snacks matched the following criteria:

  • Made with real and recognizable ingredients.
  • Prioritize fiber-filled and protein-rich sources.
  • Free from trans-fat and partially hydrogenated oils.
  • 300 calories or less per serving.
  • 10 grams of added sugar or less per serving.
  • 300 milligrams sodium or less per serving.

The Chili Roasted and BBQ pistachios contain six grams of protein, 170 calories and 13 grams of total fat per serving.

Wonderful Pistachios is part of The Wonderful Co., a Los Angeles-based, privately held $5 billion company that also has iconic brands such as Wonderful Halos, Fiji Water, POM Wonderful and others.
