Cumby Farms to Carry Coinstar 'Pay as You Go' Products

Includes prepaid wireless, stored-value debit cards, gift cards, more

CANTON, Mass. -- Cumberland Farms said that Coinstar Inc.'s E-Payment Services' full range of pay as you go products will be available to consumers at approximately 600 Cumberland Farms convenience stores.

The product line includes national and regional prepaid wireless programs, prepaid MasterCard and VISA stored-value debit cards, leading gift cards and more.

We are pleased to offer this extensive range of pay as you go products to the Cumberland Farms shopper. And, since Coinstar manages every aspect of the program, making [image-nocss] it completely turnkey, store employees can focus on their main objectivecustomer service, said Ron Saumur, director of retail business development for Canton, Mass.-based Cumberland Farms.

With a variety of customizable technology platforms, Coinstar removes the challenges traditionally faced by retailers offering pay as you go products, the company said. The turnkey, no-cost inventory solution is designed to maximize category performance by optimizing the product mix and targeting shopper needs. Coinstar manages the setup, training, ongoing merchandising and replenishment of the products and provides chain and store reporting.

By offering such a wide range of choices to its customers, Cumberland Farms will have the ability to attract new customers and generate additional store traffic.

The pay as you go product line is expected to be available in Cumberland Farms stores in its marketing areas11 states in the Northeast and Floridabeginning in mid-August.

Coinstar offers fourth-wall solutions for retailers' front of store consisting of self-service coin counting, electronic payment solutions, entertainment services and self-service DVD rental. The company's products and services can be found at more than 60,000 retail locations including supermarkets, banks, drug stores, mass merchants, c-stores and restaurants.
