ExxonMobil Volunteers Donate 826,000 Hours to Charities

Employees, retirees, families participate during National Volunteer Week

IRVING, Texas -- Exxon Mobil Corp. said that in 2005, 12,000 employees, retirees and their families volunteered more than 826,000 hours to more than 5,800 charitable organizations in 22 countries through company-sponsored volunteer programs. In 2005, ExxonMobil and its affiliates donated $9 million to the charitable organizations where they volunteered.

"Our employees are not only ExxonMobil's greatest asset but they are also highly valued in the communities where they live," said Rex Tillerson, ExxonMobil chairman and CEO. "What we hear repeatedly from [image-nocss] nonprofit organizations is that ExxonMobil volunteers are highly capable, committed and a tremendous help to their organization. The volunteer grants are icing on the cake. I am very proud of our people."

"For more than 50 years, ExxonMobil has given record contributions and offered immeasurable volunteer hours to the United Way and our affiliated agencies to help address the diverse needs in our community," said Anna Babin, director of the United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast.

During Volunteer Week, April 24-28, 2006, more than 2,000 ExxonMobil volunteers will volunteer in 240 projects at 48 United Way-affiliated agencies throughout the greater Houston area.

In the United States, 8,500 volunteers committed 640,000 hours to 4,800 organizations that received $8.2 million. Grants were awarded in 48 states and totals are highest in locations where ExxonMobil has a significant presence such as Baton Rouge, La., 48,000 volunteer hours, $745,000 in grants; Baytown, Texas, 40,000 volunteer hours, $515,500 in grants; Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, 22,000 volunteer hours, $249,000 in grants; Houston, 201,000 volunteer hours, $2,904,000 in grants; and Fairfax, Va., 35,000 volunteer hours, $429,000 in grants.

In 2005 ExxonMobil employees and retirees also donated $35 million of their own money to charity and relief organizations through company-sponsored programs. When combined with corporate donations, ExxonMobil, together with its employees and retirees, contributed $168 million to community investments worldwide.
