Fas Mart Donates $60,000 to Richmond Charities

HomeAgain, Childhelp receive golf outing contributions

MECHANICSVILLE, Va. -- GPM Investments LLC, which operates the Fas Mart convenience store chain, said that it will donate $60,000 raised from its 8th Annual Golf Outing & Auction held last fall to two local charities, HomeAgain and ChildHelp.

Dave McComas, CEO of Fas Mart, presented the checks to the organizations on Friday at a Fas Mart location in Ashland, Va.

Fas Mart will donate $40,000 to HomeAgain, a local organization that assists homeless families and individuals by providing emergency and transitional shelter. The group provides 150 beds and related support services [image-nocss] to homeless men, women and children each year, as well as programs designed to build skills necessary for them to return to permanent housing.

The chain will also donate $20,000 to Childhelp, part of a national organization which works with abused and neglected children to address their emotional, educational and spiritual needs. The organization focuses its efforts on providing advocacy, prevention, treatment and community outreach.

"A core operating principle of our company has always been to actively support our local community," said McComas (pictured on right with Fas vice president of marketing Russ Quick, left, and unnamed ChildHelp executive). "We are truly honored to support these fine organizations which do so much to make a difference in people's lives."

Fas Mart is a regional convenience store chain with 205 company-operated locations. Last year, Fas Mart donated an additional $135,000 to various local charities, bringing its total contribution to $195,000.
