Flash Foods in IT Deal With Peak 10

Firm will provide data center services to Ga. retailer

WAYCROSS, Ga. -- Peak 10, an independent data center operator and managed services provider, said that it will begin supplying its services to convenience retailer Flash Foods Inc. The chain will receive both managed IT and data center services out of Peak 10 Jacksonville's data center.

"With nearly 200 stores and growing, our company needed the assurance that our mission-critical data was secure and available around the clock," said Ken Wade, director of retail automation for Waycross, Ga.-based Flash Foods.

Flash Foods, founded in 1969, has grown to more than 1,500 employees, 176 [image-nocss] convenience stores, and 20 branded food outlets through a combination of acquisitions and development. Flash Foods offers convenience foods, common grocery items, beverages and the company's own brand of fuel products, as well as fuel products from top brand name manufacturers.

Peak 10 Jacksonville provides managed co-location, enterprise hosting, reliable bandwidth and a variety of managed services including disaster recovery, storage, monitoring and management, security and data protection. The company owns and operates 12 data centers, in Cincinnati; Atlanta; Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C.; Tampa and Jacksonville, Fla.; Nashville, Tenn.; Louisville, Ky.; and Richmond, Va. The company has a portfolio of clients in the Jacksonville market including the Gator Bowl, Firehouse Subs, Vurv Technology, Sea Star Line, STM Group, LendingTree, Rivals.com, Global Knowledge, Pergo, Churchill Downs, The Fresh Market and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Peak 10 recently announced the opening of its second secure data center in Jacksonville, Fla. It more than doubles Peak 10's Jacksonville operations, increasing facility capacity to more than 35,000 total square feet and more than 18,000 square feet of raised floor in service today.
