Holiday Stationstores Names New CIO

Skare follows retiring Garofolo

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Holiday Stationstores said that Randy Skare will join the company as vice president and chief information officer, succeeding the retiring Frank Garofolo.

Brent Blackey, president and COO, said, "Holiday Stationstores' continued growth and program development require an exceptional leader in IS [Information Services] to address our current and future needs. Randy Skare is a superb match for our requirements and an excellent successor to our CIO, Frank Garofolo."

He added, "We are grateful to Frank for his 33 [image-nocss] years of leadership in our organization. Under Frank's direction, IS has authored innumerable systems which have successfully and efficiently supported the operations of many of our divisionspast and present."

Skare, who has been president of Continuity Consulting Inc., a Twin Cities-based IS consulting practice, begins his new role later this month. Skare's career history includes director-level positions at Best Buy Inc. He also worked at Holiday previously in several IS management roles.

Garofolo will continue at Holiday in a supportive and consultative role into 2008.

Holiday Stationstores is a Bloomington, Minn.-based convenience store and gasoline retailer with more than 420 corporate and franchise locations in 12 states throughout the upper tier of the United States, including Alaska. Also, it is the sole distributor of Blue Planet clean gasoline.
