Liquid Barcodes, a loyalty, subscription and pump activation company for convenience and fuel retailers, is now a loyalty partner with both Verifone and Gilbarco Veeder-Root, two point-of-sale (POS) companies.

This certification enables convenience stores with Liquid Barcodes’ programs to integrate with existing Verifone or Gilbarco Veeder-Root POS systems. Retailers can collaborate with Liquid Barcodes to develop personalized mobile apps and integrate loyalty or subscription programs into existing apps through a plug-and-play Application Programming Interface.

Liquid Barcodes and Verifone recently partnered with Smith Oil Co., New Cumberland, West Virginia, which operates 12 convenience stores serving the Ohio Valley in both Ohio and West Virginia, to expand its app to include a loyalty program, which includes exclusive offers, a convenience-store locator, digital receipts and more.

Cleveland-based Liquid Barcodes developed the application on its new platform that includes digital stamp cards for several popular items and fuel pay, powered by Liquid Barcodes C-Store Pay technology. The fuel pay program, added in 2022, allows consumers to drive in, swipe to choose the fuel pump number in the app, link their bank account on the first visit, fuel up and go.

“We are really excited about these partnerships with Verifone and Gilbarco Veeder-Root as they allow for greater synergy between applications to deliver truly seamless experiences for both retailers and end consumers,” Saurabh Swarup, general manager of North America for Liquid Barcodes Inc. “I am confident that many retailers using Verifone and Gilbarco Veeder-Root would like to take advantage of this fully integrated app solution.”

Of the more than 150,000 convenience stores in the United States, two-thirds have either Verifone or Gilbarco Veeder-Root POS or commerce technologies, according to the companies.
