TIO offers bill pay program, services for Shell Trading and Retail Zone

BURNABY, B.C. -- Major North American automated bill payment and financial services provider TIO Networks Corp. has announced a marketing campaign to promote TIO Financial Services through the STARZ (Shell Trading and Retail Zone) program.

Shell-branded retailers and wholesalers may opt into the program and have the option of offering TIO's services to customers through a number of formats including cash-accepting kiosks, cash-accepting hybrid ATMs and a web-based clerk-assisted solution.

By offering the TIO services, Shell-branded [image-nocss] wholesalers and retailers will be able to tap into and generate incremental revenues from the large unbanked population in the United States. Depending on the type of TIO program being employed, Shell customers will be able to make time-sensitive wireless, utility, cable and other bill payments; conduct ATM transactions; purchase prepaid long-distance or wireless top-up; or conduct a variety of other transactions specifically formulated for the cash-preferred demographic.

Participating Shell-branded retailers will benefit from the transactional revenues and increased store loyalty generated by the TIO services, which are designed for the cash-preferred consumer marketplace.

TIO Networks will offer the various TIO programs as a new product category. STARZ is the Shell web-based resource center where Shell-branded wholesalers and retailers can access news, information, business services, resources and products and equipment that add value to their businesses.

We are honored to continue the expansion of the TIO Network with STARZ. Shell is one of the most readily recognized brands in the industry, enabling TIO to better serve the cash-preferred and unbanked consumer market place, said Hamed Shahbazi, chairman and CEO of TIO Networks.

Shell Oil Products US, a subsidiary of Shell Oil Co., has a network of approximately 6,000 Shell-branded gas stations in the western United States. Shell Oil Co. is an affiliate of the Shell Group. Motiva Enterprises LLC refines and markets branded products through approximately 7,700 Shell-branded stations in the eastern and southern United States. Shell Oil Co. is a 50% owner of Motiva, along with Saudi Refining Inc.

TIO Networks operates in more than 2,000 locations, the Burnaby, B.C.-based company said.
