Newsweek Recognizes Maverik, QuikTrip, Sheetz, Wawa, Casey’s for Best Loyalty Programs

Other convenience-store chains, gas stations also make the list

Newsweek has released a list of America’s Best Loyalty Programs 2024, and several convenience-store chains from Maverik to QuikTrip to Sheetz made the cut.

While Maverik was the top-performing c-store chain, the top performer overall on the list was not in the convenience industry. Victoria’s Secret Victoria’s Secret Credit Card took first place, followed by Amazon’s Rewards points and Walmart’s Capital One Walmart Rewards Card. The top-scoring food-related company and rewards program was My Rewards from Hardee’s.

The global loyalty management ecosystem is estimated to be worth $24 billion by the end of 2029, Newsweek said, citing data from Statista. And many convenience stores have been adding or upgrading their loyalty programs and apps.  

Newsweek partnered with data analysis firm Statista to rank more than 300 loyalty programs across 40 categories in its fourth annual ranking of America’s Best Loyalty Programs. They broke c-stores into two subcategories, convenience stores, part of the grocery category, and gas stations, part of the services: transportation and travel category.

  • GasBuddy Mastercard Credit Card from GasBuddy, 8.01
  • Speedy Rewards from Speedway, 7.8
  • RaceTrac Rewards from RaceTrac, 7.75
  • Fuel Rewards from Shell, 7.7
  • My Sheetz Rewardz from Sheetz, 7.63
  • KickBack Rewards from 76, 7.21
  • Wawa Rewards from Wawa, 7.17
  • GetGo Fleet from GetGo, 7.05
  • BPme Rewards from bp, 6.82

The list was compiled based on the results of an independent survey of more than 4,000 U.S. customers who are members of loyalty programs, Newsweek said. The final assessment and rankings were based on six criteria: ease and enjoyment; benefit; overall satisfaction; customer support; trust; and recommendation. The full methodology is available here.
