Passport 5 Now Available to Chevron Retailers

Introduction accompanied by leasing programs, incentives

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Gilbarco Veeder-Root's Passport point-of-sale (POS) system is now approved for and available to Chevron-branded retailers. In addition, Gilbarco Veeder-Root is offering a leasing program and other incentives to assist Chevron retailers in upgrading well before the end-of-life deadlines on their older POS systems.

Kirsten Paust, Gilbarco Veeder-Root's vice president, global retail systems, said, As part of this launch, we are providing an extremely aggressive leasing program and a limited-time incentive to upgrade existing POS systems. The new Version 5 software provides direct control of dispensers with pay-at-the-pump made by Gilbarco and Dresser Wayne. The software also supports cash acceptors in the dispensers, a full interface to the Mannatec and Commercial Fueling Network (CFN) for acceptance of fleet fueling cards, and a new security camera interface.

Passport Version 5 is the most reliable and powerful software we have ever released, Paust said. It is more flexible to meet the needs of many retailers who have a mix of equipment at their sites, want improved security and more payment options. Passport improves efficiency and convenience for greater profitability.

Mike Hill, manager at Brown Bear Car Wash, Renton, Wash., was one of the first to have Passport Version 5 for Chevron. He recently rebranded to Chevron. What I like most about Passport is the speed and ease of use, the ability to customize what's on the touch screen on the fly, and the simplicity of training users, Hill said. It's a lot faster and more efficient than our previous POS system.

Greensboro, N.C.-based Gilbarco Veeder-Root and Gasboy are major suppliers of integrated fuel control, site management and support services for petroleum marketers and commercial fueling enterprises worldwide.
