Veeder-Root Offers Real-Time Inventory

Wireless system targets above-ground storage tanks

SIMSBURY, Conn. -- Veeder-Root announced the availability of the Veeder-Root TLS-RF Wireless System for fleet fueling AST applications. The system provides fleet fueling operators with a cost effective real-time fuel inventory management system, according to Cal Tanck, global platform manager for ATG (Automatic Tank Gauge) Products for Veeder-Root.

The system enables real-time communications between tank-gauge components by continuously monitoring the probes that are integral to the system. As such, it can detect deliveries and dispense events [image-nocss] and transmit that information in real-time to the console, rather than on a fixed time interval.

With the high price of fuel, bulk storage facilities can no longer afford to not have accurate inventory of their fuel supply. Now with this system, it's possible to have real-time wet stock management without prohibitive installation costs, Tanck said. And since the installation time needed for wireless is greatly reduced from having to break concrete, users can be up and running in only a matter of hours rather than days.

Veeder-Root is a global supplier of automatic tank-gauging and fuel-management systems, including the Red Jacket brand of submersible pumps and pressurized line leak detectors. Veeder-Root is headquartered in Simsbury, Conn.
