XProtean Solutions Achieve PCI Compliance

Coalfire performs PABP audit
MILPITAS, Calif. -- XProtean Inc., a provider of integrated retail management solutions for small-format retailers including the convenience, retail fuel and quick-serve restaurants (QSR) segments, has announced that its QSR and convenience store solutions achieved PCI compliance. The Payment Application Best Practices (PABP) audit was performed by Coalfire System Inc, a Visa-approved independent quality service assessor.

Adherence to PCI data security standard is required of all merchants/service providers that store process or transmit credit/debit card data. PCI security [image-nocss] requirements are intended to protect consumers wherever their data resides. With these standards in place, the onus now lies on the merchant to ensure their business operates in a compliant manner. Hence, moving forward in order to comply with all the PCI DSS requirements, merchants will have to use PABP compliant POS solutions.

According to XProtean CEO Jag Kapoor, "PABP-compliant solutions are a must have in today's environment. For customers in the market, a PCI-compliant solution is a key factor in their decision process. Achieving our PABP compliance is another way that XProtean keeps up with industry standards and provides state-of-the-art solutions to our current and future customers."

XProtean customers will now be able to assure consumers that their businesses protect cardholder information as no credit card track data is stored once a transaction is processed. XProtean completed PABP compliance requirements to protect customers and their businesses.
